About the founders
We haven’t had our wedding yet.
We’re Lakshika and Pulsari, and we built Invited because we haven’t had our wedding yet.
That’s not a typo.
We got engaged, got legally married, did all the paperwork and skipped all the spectacle. The big celebration is coming — we promise, Amma. In the meantime we’ve been to a lot of other people’s weddings, and kept noticing the same thing: friends who curate their Instagram grids like museum exhibits, announcing the most important day of their lives with compressed WhatsApp videos and PDFs that look like tax returns.
Beautiful people. Inviting us to beautiful celebrations. With invitations that felt like neither.
So we started designing better ones. Then we realised: 35,000 weddings a year in Sri Lanka, three million Sri Lankans in the diaspora, and every one of those moments deserves to feel like the joyful chaos it actually is.
Lakshika is the creative half (Lead Creative at Bhasha, ex-Leo Burnett). Pulsari is the heart of it. Together we’re building the platform we wish our friends had — and the one we’ll use ourselves, when we finally throw our own.
